Day 16--PastTense Tension Blend!
While I am fortunate that I don’t have migraines, I do have the stresses and challenges of life that leaves me full of tension and headaches. The demands of motherhood, juggling work, aging parents, an especially challenging child, keeping the household in order and then that never ending list that I (and all of us) think I need to fulfill.
Most of us get tension headaches from time to time. This is actually the most common type of headache among adults. Aches in the shoulders and neck as well as temples are sure signs of tension and stress.
According to the National Headache Foundation, over 45 million Americans suffer from chronic, recurringheadaches and of these, 28 million suffer from migraines. Surprisingly (to me) 20% of children and adolescents also experience significant headaches. (WebMD)
When we get headaches, a lot of us automatically go to Ibuprofen and/or Aspirin. Although we think of Ibuprofen as a rather harmless and innocent medication, it is associated with an increased risk of heart and circulation problems, including stroke and heart attack, as well as gastrointestinal problems, such as bleeding or perforation of the stomach or intestinal tract. The longer you take the drug, the risk increases, although the length of time until it affects any one individual varies depending on their overall health, use of other medications, age, and other factors. I am not a doctor and I do not condone using Ibuprofen, only caution sustained use over long periods of time.
Aspirin has its negative side effects as well, it has been linked to: kidney failure, liver failure, ulcers, hearing loss and stroke. A 2000 study among elderly patients showed that they were at even more at risk to being heavily affected. The conclusion of the study was that even when only taking 75mg/day dose significant changes were noted in their renal (kidney) function. Additionally, a 2009 study found 80% of individuals (previously qualified as perfectly healthy) experienced small intestinal toxicity, after just 14 days of low-dosage aspirin use. Again, I am not a doctor and there are many times Ibuprofen and Aspirin are needed. For headaches however, I have been fortunate to have significant relief from PastTense!!!!
Past Tense is a distinctive blend of wintergreen, lavender, peppermint, frankincense, cilantro, marjoram, roman chamomile, basil, and rosemary essential oils! It comes in a convenient roller bottle for easy application. This is one of those bottles that I carry with me everywhere. If I could only have three oils, I would make sure I have PastTense as one of them. You must try PastTense if you suffer from headaches, migraines, and/or tension.
